At Body Neutral, we believe that your body is not something to be fixed —
Your body is to be celebrated, connected with, and appreciated for all it allows you to do. After struggling with body image and the pressure to conform to unrealistic ideals, I discovered that true freedom comes not from changing our bodies, but from adjusting how we relate to them.
We are here to help you break free from the exhausting cycle of self-criticism, comparison, and external validation. Through workshops, accessible resources, and a supportive community, we guide individuals of all ages toward a life where they can celebrate their bodies for their power, resilience, and what they can do, not just how they look.
Imagine waking up feeling at peace with your body, moving through life without the weight of judgment or perfection. That’s the Body Neutral experience—a journey of reclaiming your worth from the inside out, where self-compassion replaces shame, and your body becomes a source of strength and gratitude.
Together, we’ll build a community where body neutrality isn’t just an idea— it’s a movement. One where everyone, no matter their age, size, or background, has the opportunity to live fully and confidently.

My Body-Image Journey
Growing up as a dancer, I spent countless hours in front of a mirror, learning to pick my body apart thread by thread. This quickly escalated into religiously following calorie tracker apps, eating saltines for dinner, consuming 5 cups of green tea a day to keep me “full,” and admiring Instagram influencers promoting dangerous diets and unattainable standards. Eventually pursuing my dream of performing in college, these behaviors intensified, giving me a false sense of control over the rigors of my class and rehearsal schedules and the pressures of an image-based industry. After 15 years of overworking and malnourishing my body, it finally broke.
At 19, I found myself in too many doctors’ offices to count. I could tell you exactly how long it would take to get to the closest emergency room —7 minutes in the morning, 12 minutes in the evening. After 2 months of countless appointments, I was left with no answers. All I knew was that my hips were not working properly, and it felt like my body was on fire.
Finally, I went to a doctor in Dallas, Texas who was able to give me an answer. While I was relieved to have an answer, I knew it would be a long road to recovery. I was facing a year and a half of no exercise, no dancing, physical therapy 3 times a week, several medications, and routine hip injections. I felt lost. Without being able to perform, I felt like I had lost my entire identity, the very thing that made me tick.
What I grew to realize over this year and half was that this time of self-reckoning and exploration had become the greatest gift. With every literal and figurative step, I transformed from a victim into a victor. My view of the world completely changed during my recovery. I began to live from the inside out. With every literal and figurative step, I transformed from a victim into a victor. I began to celebrate every victory, no matter how small because I learned to appreciate my body for exactly what it can do right now.
How Did This Become BODY NEUTRAL?
Body neutrality is the radical idea that your worth, value, and identity come from the internal, not the external. It relieves the pressure of needing the latest and greatest product to “fix” your body while also alleviating the guilt associated with not being able to reach a place where you truly love your body for how it looks. Put simply, body neutrality says that your body is not good or bad—it just is.
It is enough to be present and appreciate your body for what it does for you. This was the key to my recovery. I didn’t know if I could ever reach a place where I could fully trust and love my body, but I knew that I could appreciate the little wins—finally being able to take the stairs again and taking my first dance class in a year. Today, I am strength training again, which I never thought I would be able to do.
Although this is my story, I know I am not the only one who has experienced these feelings. If that’s you, you are not alone. By implementing the pillars of connecting with your body, celebrating what it can do for you, and creating sustainable habits of nutrition, movement, and rest, you can dismantle the need for external validation and reclaim your power. Body Neutral is tailored to three demographics: students, the workforce, and our senior population. Using my children’s book, age-appropriate curriculum, workshops, and accessible community events, we can all learn to live from the inside out because you are so much more than your body.
